Church Bake Sale

Last week we had a bake sale at our church.
I wanted to think outside the box and come up with something a little different.
Cupcakes in a jar.
These are the coolest things, I actually saw these on Food Network and thought,
what a genius idea.
There is so many things you can do with these.
You can take these on the go, or if you don't eat it all, you can save the
rest for latter. Not to mention these would make a great gift.

These are super easy to make.
I used a cake mix and store bought icing.
Bake cup cakes in a muffin pan, let cool and cut in half.
Place the bottom cupcake in the jar, top with icing,
place the top part of the cupcake on top of icing and end with the icing
on top.
I tied a spoon around the jar so if they wanted to eat it right then they could,
plus it looks really cute with the spoon.

My second item for the bake sale.
These babies almost didn't make it to the bake sale.
The smell of these Cinnamon Rolls tormented us,
I think my whole family was hoping I would drop them on the floor
so I wouldn't have to take them to the bake sale and believe me, we would
have eaten every cinnamon roll off the floor including me.
Sadly enough, I didn't drop any but, we did eat the ones that we thought
might not be bake sale worthy. Code for, we could not help ourselves.
I admit it, I had a week moment. I think those cinnamon rolls put some
kind of spell on us, yea! thats what happened, it was all the cinnamon rolls
fault. Shew! I feel a lot better now that I realized I wasn't week, I was just
under a cinnamon roll spell and the only way to break the spell is to
eat the cinnamon roll. :-)

You guys are probably thinking, enough with the spells and
give us the recipe!
Here is the recipe, and remember if you find yourself eating a lot of these, it's ok,
your doing the right thing, it's the only way to break the ( scary music in the back ground)
"Cinnamon Roll Spell" MUWAAAHAAAA!!!!

Ok, here's the recipe.
1/4 warm water
1/4 c. butter melted
1/2 of a 3.4oz pkg of instant vanilla pudding
1 c. warm milk
1 egg room temp.
1 Tbs sugar
1/2 tsp salt
4 c. bread flour
1 pkg yeast ( i used bread machine yeast in a jar)
Place al ingredients in bread machine and set on dough cycle.
When dough is finished. Roll out dough on a slightly floured surface.
Roll dough into a rectangle.
Filling:
1/4 c. softened butter
1/4 c. white granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 1/2 Tbs cinnamon
Spread softened butter onto dough.
Mix together the other ingredients and sprinkle over butter.
Roll up dough, beginning with the long side and slice.
Place in a greased or buttered 9x13 inch pan and let rise about 45 min.
Bake at 350 for 30 to 40 min or until they START to turn brown.

For the icing, I used the same icing recipe that I used on the
ricotta cookies.
ENJOY!

My Halloween Bowl

I'm so excited to show you guys this. The Katie Brown collection at
Meijrs is on clearance right now, and I have had my eye on this bowl for a while.
So, as soon as I saw the orange tag, I knew right then I had to have it.
One of the things I like most about this bowl is,
it's huge!
Since Halloween is coming up, I thought it would make the perfect candy bowl.

I got out the old cricut machine, some vinyl
and printed out the letters and stuck it on the bowl.
It turned out sooooo cute!
I keep walking back to the kitchen just to look at it.
I'm totally in love with this bowl.

More Fall/Halloween Stuff

I'm having so much fun getting the house all ready for fall and halloween.
Sams club has these cute little halloween pretzels, and is perfect for the
kids lunch.

I got this giant pumpkin at T.J Maxx. Just
wrap some lights around it and BooM! Instant Fallsville:)
It looks very fallish (: is that a word? :) sitting on our hearth.

I absolutely love these guys.
I bought them at Kirkland's and love how they look
in the house.

Ahhhh, my cloche, how I love thee.
I put a white pumpkin in it and some leaves. It's really endless
what you can do with these.
Now if it was just cool enough for a fire, I would
be all set.

Fall Is In The Air

Is anybody else ready for fall?
I am! I can't believe I'm saying it but, bring on the cooler air, scarfs,
pumpkins, the changing of the leaves, the smell of cinnamon in the kitchen,
a warm cozy fire in the fireplace with a nice cup of hot chocolate.
Fall is definetely one of my favorite times of the year.
So come on fall, BRING IT!!

Since I'm in the fall mood, I thought I would start decorating for it.

I got these wooden acorns at hobby lobby this week and
they were only 1.50
They are so cute!

While I was out looking for more fall deals, I thought I
would go in this store called the christmas shop.
I have never been in one these store before because I thought it was a store
that sold christmas stuff.
I don't know what would give me that idea :-)
Anyway! This store is awesome!
They sell all kinds of stuff, cheap stuff.
If you have one of these stores in your area, you must go.
I got this cute little wooden pumpkin ball for only a 1.00
This store has all kinds of seasonal stuff for a 1.00

These buckets are my favorite.
They also came from the christmas store.
Don't you think they look like Mary Engelbreit stuff?
They were only a dollar!!!!!!!
I think I'm ready for another shopping trip to the christmas store,
what do you think?
